How To Add An Essbase Server In Smartview 11.1.2?

Goal
How do you add an Essbase Server in Smartview 11.1.2?
Solution
To add an Essbase Server perform the following steps:
1. In Smartview options, click the Advanced tab and set the following in the Shared connections url:
http://machinename:19000/workspace/SmartViewProviders
Note: Make sure you can access HSS and Workspace on 19000 otherwise this url will not work.
2. Open the Smartview Panel, click on Shared Connections, and fill in your Shared Services username/password.
3. Click on the arrow next to the empty Drop Down List.
4. Select the 'Add New Server' option and fill in your Essbase Server information.
If you do not see the 'Add New Server' option in Step 4 this may be because Analytic Provider Services was configured after Shared Services. In which case please refer to the following Knowledge article for details on how to resolve this:

Once the Essbase Server has been added you can then create connections for individual Essbase Applications and Databases. These can be created as Shared Connections, which can be used by all users. Alternatively, users can create their own local connections and save them as Private Connections.
