Installation of a Siebel patch failing on clustered environment: Wrong Siebel installation directory chosen

Symptoms
Customer installed the Siebel version 7.7.2.5 maintenance release on a clustering server, on this machine, local disk K:, M:, N:, O:, P:, are raw disk ( Not formatted and not ready for use). During the installation the above mentioned disks are automatically selected (selected by the application with no control to change the directory) as base directory and the installation of the Siebel patch fails.
Solution
For the benefit of other readers:
Customer was installing the Siebel version 7.7.2.5 maintenance release in a clustered environment but the target drive locations (K, M, N, O, P) displayed by the installer did not correspond to the Siebel installation locations.
Summary:
The vpd.properties file was reviewed. This file showed the Siebel installer was displaying the drives K, M, N, O and P as those were the drives in which the Siebel software was originally installed.
The issue could be addressed by moving the Cluster Resources Groups representing the Siebel installation instances between nodes such that the Siebel installer could physically access the Siebel instances drives. The customer had previously stopped the Cluster Groups of Resources as opposed to the generic services (IIS Admin, Siebel Gateway and Server Services).
